Living in Michiana can be very exciting if you know where to look for things to do. The area is rich with activities in the summer months playing host to many festivals that stretch from the shores of Lake Michigan in Michigan to the heart of Indiana, where local people showcase their cooking skills, craft skills and they also offer entertainment for the kids.
Michiana is also lucky to be so close to Lake Michigan where you can enjoy the relaxing and refreshing water of our Great Lakes. South Bend has sporting events you can attend such as The South Bend Silverhawks (minor league baseball) and of course, South Bend is the home of The University of Notre Dame.
You can also jet off to Indianapolis or Chicago for the day. Indianapolis is roughly a 3 hour drive south where you can enjoy a wide range of entertainment. Indy offers such things as a Children's Museum, The Indianapolis Speedway (which now hosts 3 major racing events per year), The Indiana Pacers of the NBA, The Indiana Fever of the WNBA, The Indiana Firebirds of the AFL, The Indianapolis Ice of the CHL, and The Indianapolis Colts of the NFL.
Located about 2 hours around Lake Michigan, you can spend numerous days in Chicago site seeing and attend all kinds of events that will keep you busy. Chicago offers sports teams of all kinds. The Chicago Bulls of the NBA, The Chicago White Sox of MLB, The Chicago Cubs of MLB, The Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL, The Chicago Fire of MLS, and The Chicago Bears of the NFL.
Chicago also offers sites of interest such as The Sears Tower, Navy Pier, multiple museums, downtown shopping on Michigan Avenue, Shead Aquarium, Brookfield and Lincoln Park Zoos, and much more!
